Alaska, We Are Here!

Our view out the window revealed the rugged mountain range of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Reserve.  After over 5 hours of sitting in the airline seat, I was ready to get off that plane!

Where, oh where is the RV we rented in this sea of campers??  Oh!  We found the sign hanging from the rear view mirror welcoming us to Anchorage.

We got to ABC Rentals around 9:00 PM Alaska time and it felt more like 5 PM because it was so light out.  Don wandered around the lot, looking for the other 2 couples.   Somewhere on the lot are the RVs that Sherry and Gary and Norm and Landi have rented.

"Hail, hail, the gangs all here......"

Jerry, Norm and Landi are already settled in on the couch while Gary, Don and Sherry listen to the conversation.  Can you find Sandy in this picture?  Only her arm and part of her back are showing.  I guess she was just trying out the driver's seat.

At 2 AM (Colorado time) the four of us were finally done unpacking and halfway settled in.  None of us were tired, which is odd for us.  Normally, we are closing our eyes at 10 PM.  I guess all of us are wired!
Don and I opted for the double bed above the cab while Sandy and Jerry settled down in the back bedroom.  It was an interesting night.  Not only were we right off a busy highway, we were within a block of the airport runway!  Who cares?!  We are still in Alaska!
