Update: we've checked another item off our "OBL", or as we call it, old-timer's bucket list! The ride on the airboat through the Florida swamp land got all A's from me: Awesome and amazing.
This was better than any ride at Disneyland by far. Maybe our grandchildren wouldn't agree with us on that point, but this was a blast.
Here you see our guide giving us instructions. You bet your bottom boots I am NOT going to stand up in the boat while it's in motion or until we are safely docked! The last place I want to be is in some muddy water, surrounded by alligators (even if they weren't big ones).
Don't we all look cute with our blue ears? We are ready to go!
I got some great shots of herons and egrets as they flew by. This was so much better than just seeing them by the roadside or as we walked along one of the boardwalks in the Everglades.
An alligator made a mad dash to get away from us and swim to safer territory.
This bird looked like he was strutting his stuff for us. Show off!
As I look back, this ride was probably far better than the rides that were cancelled on us. Yeah for airboats!
